How to Enable Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting: Midnight and Daybreak Keyboards

Dynamic Lighting is a feature built-in to Windows 11, that lets you natively sync and control RGB effects on JLab Midnight and Daybreak keyboards. This guide will show you how to easily set up global colors, custom animations, and modify individual device effects in just a few clicks.

 

Before starting, we recommend checking the update tab in The Lab app to make sure your keyboard is up-to-date with the latest firmware.

 

• To activate Dynamic Lighting on your keyboard, simply hold Fn and press Tab.
  • Toggle back to the default animations using this same command.

 

• You can access the interface for Dynamic Lighting through the Windows 11 Settings.
  • Click here to open the page directly, or press the Windows Key + I on your keyboard and navigate to Personalization → Dynamic Lighting manually.

 

• Once you are on the Dynamic Lighting page, make sure the toggle next to 'Use Dynamic Lighting on my devices' is turned On.
• Right above that, you can click on the tab for your Midnight or Daybreak Keyboard.

 

• This menu is where you can modify the Brightness and Effects for your keyboard.

 

• The Effects tab will let you adjust:
  • Effect Type
  • Effect Speed
  • Effect Direction
  • Effect Color(s)
